My chronology is correct, but it may be a little confusing. I got off the bus at 14th and P, which is a half a block from Halo. I then walked past Halo and went to McDonalds, which closed shortly after (probably at 9:30.) Then, I walked back to Halo and got bored and went to JRs, then Omega followed by dinner and my re-enactment of the Journey of Natty Gann back to my house.

First of all, that behavior at McDonald’s was more than rude — it was assault, vandalism, and criminal.

Though it sits smack dab in the middle of the 17th St. D.C. gayborhood, that McDonald’s is little more than a nasty homeless shelter for bums and at night, as you put it, thugs. (I’m assuming those weren’t drunk gay boys doing that.) My own feeling is that McDonald’s should be closed outright. It has definitely deteriorated over the years.

Beyond that, though, your entry was confusing chronologically. I’m assuming the McDonald’s incident was at the end of the night, but you jumped back to earlier in the night with no transition. I was confused.

Anyway, Happy New Year 2009.
