One of Many Reasons why NORTA Sucks Ass

Imbecilic Schedule Designers
Who designed these schedules? Notice how none of the descriptions on the schedule grid are on the map they give you?

Bus schedule
They tell you what time the bus will be at “Cemeteries,” Esplanade/Broad, N. Rampart/Canal, Ar. Rousseau/St. Andrew, or Lv. Rousseau/St. Andrew but none of them are shown! How fucking stupid is that??

Not that you can get this schedule anywhere else but online anyway… I bet more people, especially tourists, would use the buses/streetcars if they actually took the time to put schedules ANYWHERE in the off-line world like other developed cities do. Before you blame it on the flood, NORTA hasn’t had schedules on the buses LONG before the storm. I called and asked once and the reason they gave me was that since the drivers are unionized, they can’t require them to do anything but drive… they can’t even ask them to refill the schedule holders. Uhg.

  1. Yup. And that’s really not a schedule, it’s more an approximation of times. The streetcars are particularly bad about this. What I used to tell tourists was that during peak hours, cars were scheduled every 6 minutes, which really meant you got 10 an hour. You may get 4 in a row, and then 20 minutes later another 2 show up.
