After weighing my options and a month of internal debate, I finally decided on the Crumpler Wonder Weenie Messenger Bag from ebags.com. I was seriously looking at the Jandd Andrew as well, but didn’t like the colors that were available in the clearance section.
My only concern is that although the eBags page says the Crumpler is made with Dupont Cudora, the Crumpler website says it’s made with their proprietary “ChickenTex”, whatever the fsck that is. I really wish they had some real information about the materials, instead of some lame chicken animation and a joke. Ah well. I’m hoping that it’s Cudora. Hopefully I can return it if it’s not.
Hey there – just stumbled across your blog and thought I should quickly clear up the chicken tex / cordura thing. Cordura is a registered name with Dupont so it’s not the sort of thing we can claim as a material because we don’t source it from Dupont. We call it ChickenTex as a bit of a joke but it’s still 1000 denier and 100% nylon. Hope you’re happy with the performance of your Wonder Weenie! If anything goes wrong with it just pop it in the post to us at Crumpler and we’ll repair it. Cheers! Sahra
