Found a cool site for stencils and such. I’m thinking about coming up with a few designs and selling some shirts. Bike designs maybe?.

yeah, i’ve got a bike design in the works over here, too. i haven’t ever finished it, but it’s simple, just a bike pic and the word “ride” under it… it’s the next design i was gonna come out with. i saw a similar stencil in philly when i was there last year, and really liked it, and really just wanted to have one for myself to wear!!
oh yeah, and stencilarchive.org used to be a kickass site, but it looks like they are going through a redesign or something, cuz there’s nothing up there now… i’ve posted many of my own stencils up on that site over the years.
cool. I’m thinking about coming up with some ideas and trying to sell them on line. I have to do *something* to make some extra cash. I’m so sick of being completely broke and I really don’t feel like getting a second job at starbucks or something.
I’m having trouble with getting the stencil to stay flat on the shirt. I’m using artist’s temporary mounting spray adhesive. Maybe I’m not using enough.
what are you using to make your stencils? i use spray adhesive, and yeah, sometimes you have to use a lot of it. but it’s tricky… using enough so that it stays flat, but not too much so it doesn’t gunk up the shirt. it’s really a trial and error kind of process… after a while, you figure it out.
For the stencil I make my design on a sheet of paper, then I get it laminated at work. I saw that idea on stencilrevolution and thought it was pretty ingenious. Then I though, wait, we laminate things here at work! :)
Next, I cut out the black parts with an x-acto knife.
